STORAGE - PALLET STORAGE - PUSHBACK RACKING
Deep Multi-Tier Drive-In
& Rack-clad Powered
Pushback pallet racking provides a dense storage solution by minimising
the number of aisles required to access loads which are stored several
pallets deep, being loaded and unloaded from the same face of the
Pushback can be very effective when incorporated into picking systems
and other applications where it is able to utilise storage space
which would not be accessible for other storage systems (see graphic
There are two main construction types, firstly using stacked
trolleys which run on track sections fixed to pallet racking beams.
The second type uses roller track sections, again fixed to the pallet
Both types of pushback use gravity to bring the pallets forward
to the aisle face, load speed being governed by the slope of the
track sections whilst roller systems can also incorporate speed
The number of pallets stored in the depth can vary, most commonly
between 2 and 4 although deeper storage lanes are also possible.
Most standard mechanical handling equipment can be used with pushback
systems without modification.
